Antigua Anniversary & Honeymoon

Let me preface this post with this...I welcome any but purely positive comments as this is a joyous time for Steve and I to be celebrating a happy marriage.

For those of you who do not know, Steve and I were wed on May 20th, 2010. We decided not to tell everyone because we didn't want the judgement and questions that would accompany our very thought out decision. We handled all the legal aspects of marriage then and waited to do the ceremonial aspects February 10, 2012.

Every single day since then, I have experienced the incredible love that Steve shows me and my heart has grown ten-fold because of it. He is my best friend and perfect life mate.

Now let's get on to our trip. Our going to Antigua is in celebration of 3 years of marriage and for our belated honeymoon

The trip started with a long, 3-stop trip from Dallas to DC to New York finally ending in Antigua the next day.

Any time I ever encounter anything less than comfortable, I especially feel thankful for Steve who makes every situation better. 

We stayed at the most beautiful hotel on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. We relaxed on the beach, soaked up some sun and took a catamaran cruise around the whole island to do some snorkeling.

It was the most wonderful vacation we have had and we had the pleasure of sharing it with one another.

Hello everyone! I have decided to start a blog specific to the adventures of Steve my new life together. Yes, it will be about both Steve and I but I will probably be the main one posting ;) As I just graduated college in December, I finally was able to move out to California to be with Steve again after a 3 1/2 year long-distance relationship.  It was a long journey to this point but everything we went through made us stronger as a couple. We also finally had our wedding in February which was great! We appreciate everyone who made the journey out to Texas to celebrate with us and thank everyone who could not make it but sent well wishes. It's been too long...

Before I go a whole year without posting, I figured I should update our blog with all of the fantastic, incredible, exciting things we've been up to...well something like that. We are definitely enjoying being in Austin but between work and school, we don't have too much time for much else. I hit my 1 year mark of being with Kia in June and a year ago, man, I could have never even imagined that I would be here today. I didn't realize at the time but I was being presented with the best opportunity I have had thus far. Steve started back to school in August and is doing everything online now. He is working to get his Bachelors in IT Cyber Security. I am so thankful that he has the military to pay for his education! We've taken up gardening and are growing (trying to grow) tomatoes, spinach, pineapple, lemons, cilantro, parsley and basil. Coming to an End

Steve finally made his safe return home on March 6th around 9pm. There are really no words that describe how it is to have him home. Our family is complete again and it's going to stay that way this time! Our sweet reunion Steve has been stationed in San Diego since 2009 and I moved out here to be with him in 2011 but now, our time in beautiful California is coming to an end. In a little over a week, we will be starting a new chapter of our life in Texas, free of the military. It's kind of bitter sweet for me, I've come to know and love this place but California is just WAY to expensive. We want to be able to build a life somewhere and although we both love San Diego, it's not the right place for us to settle down. I came to love Austin while going to UT and Texas puts us very close to most of my family and much closer to Steve's.
