It's been too long...
Before I go a whole year without posting, I figured I should update our blog with all of the fantastic, incredible, exciting things we've been up to...well something like that.
We are definitely enjoying being in Austin but between work and school, we don't have too much time for much else. I hit my 1 year mark of being with Kia in June and a year ago, man, I could have never even imagined that I would be here today. I didn't realize at the time but I was being presented with the best opportunity I have had thus far.
Steve started back to school in August and is doing everything online now. He is working to get his Bachelors in IT Cyber Security. I am so thankful that he has the military to pay for his education!
We've taken up gardening and are growing (trying to grow) tomatoes, spinach, pineapple, lemons, cilantro, parsley and basil. Some are more successful than others but our very first tomato has just popped out so we're really excited to be able to eat from our home garden soon!
We've started doing research and thinking about purchasing a house and have decided to start moving forward with that process next spring/summer when it's closer to my two years of being at my job and once we have paid off my student loans and Steve's car. I'm excited to take that next step in starting to set down more permanent roots and have a place to truly call our own.
This summer has been very busy at work but we have managed to have some fun too! We went to Francis' high school graduation in Florida, Daniela came to visit us for a couple days in Austin, we went to Lone Star Jam, Float Fest and will soon be attending ACL!
We are really just having fun together in such an awesome city, with our little boys who just turned (Otis) and are turning (Theo) 3 years old!
