Keeping up the courage

Image
This deployment is by far the most difficult experience Steve and I have faced as a couple. Yes, we spent 3 1/2 years living 1,000+ miles apart but there were certain "luxuries" we had then that we do not have now. Such as being able to text and call virtually whenever we wanted or needed to talk. There are many things that factor into the difficulty of this deployment and we are both counting the days until he's back home safe and sound. Some couples would and do encounter this situation and break because of the stress but this truly bonds us closer together and assures that we realize how great of a team we are. Even though I struggle with the loneliness daily I am so proud of him sticking it out for 6 more months for the better good of our future. Couldn't have done it without these two

Hello from a distant land.

Hey everybody its me, the MR. So I'm here safe and sound deployed to a far away land full of sand, heat, snakes, scorpions, and good times. It's been pretty hard to adjust to a time schedule but I've already forgotten what day it is. It seems that my days have started to run together and its only been 2 weeks... I think. My days are fast paced and very busy, and I have to keep it that way, otherwise I'll start missing my ole lady :) and my baby pups. Well things are going to be picking up soon but I'm glad I finally got to at least contribute to our little story here. Until next time peeps, who knows when that will be. Peace from the Middle East.

Changing Plans

Some of you may know already that instead of getting out of the Marines this October, Steve has been extended for a few more months to go on one more deployment. This all came about quite suddenly and although this is not [my] first choice, it is what was needed. We made it through being separated for 3 1/2 years so this too we will survive. Steve left on September 8th and made the long journey to an undisclosed location where he will be stationed for the next 6(ish) months. I ask for you all to keep us in your prayers, for Steve to be kept safe and for the time to go by quickly for the both of us. Dinner the night before Steve left

Wedding Video

We have been waiting and waiting but we are so excited to finally show you guys our wedding day "love story." I can't seem to watch it enough so I hope you all enjoy reminiscing or getting a peek into that special day of ours if you were not able to make it. We were so honored to have Altared Weddings there to capture this film for us to look back on forever. If you would also like to see the long version of our wedding day (40 min.) you can go HERE and enter the password "cinema" to view the full feature. Enjoy!

Our Growing Family

Image
We have just joined a group called the Beagle Brigade of San Diego and at their monthly meet-up the first weekend of May, we were introduced to a loving little Beagle named Theodore. Unfortunately, Theo's owners are having to give him up because of some medical problems that arose in their family. So, the reason they went to the Beagle Brigade was to find a perfect family for Theo to go to. For the good news, Theo is now joining our little family!!! We are so excited to have another little Beagle to make our lives bright and for Otis to have a little brother to play with! Theo is 5 months old, so he is just about 3 months younger than Otis. Now we have two beautiful baby Beagles to love on! Meet Theodore!

The Fast-Forward to NOW

Hello everyone! I have decided to start a blog specific to the adventures of Steve my new life together. Yes, it will be about both Steve and I but I will probably be the main one posting ;) As I just graduated college in December, I finally was able to move out to California to be with Steve again after a 3 1/2 year long-distance relationship.  It was a long journey to this point but everything we went through made us stronger as a couple. We also finally had our wedding in February which was great! We appreciate everyone who made the journey out to Texas to celebrate with us and thank everyone who could not make it but sent well wishes. If you haven't seen pictures yet, you can see some of them on our photographer's blog HERE or you can see all of them HERE . We also had a videographer at the wedding but the video is not yet ready so when it is I will share it on here. Since graduating college, I have been searching for a job in San Diego and it took longer ...
